PDP Rally is a Gathering of Imo’s Problems, Says Rochas Okorocha
Rochas Okorocha |
In this interview, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, responded to allegations that he was elected in error by the PDP, as well as other issues after the PDP rally in Owerri, the state capital. Chuks Okocha presents the excerpt
PDP has alleged that you won the governorship by default. Is it true?
Let my start by saying that PDP lied. It was not by accident, it was the mandate of the people freely given by Imo State. And let me put the record right, PDP has never won any election in Imo State. The election of Udenwa was won by me in 1999. It was not Achike Udenwa who won that election. So, it was not true and after that came Ohakim. So, they wouldn't have said it was a mistake. I have always won election in Imo State. What happened today was a political 419; the more you look, the less you see. The so called crowd they said they had was not Imolites. They don't have up to 2000 Imolities there. This is a South-east, South-south rally.

Motherhood: the mystery and the miracle of Mrs. Demeji
who would not be glad to have such wonderful gifts |
Speaking to a number of married people on the plans of my
blog on Saturday evening at A class park Maitama, Abuja, little did I know that
the information I was sharing would inspire Mrs Demeji to talk about the interesting
story of her life in the manner with which she did. Although I was positive
that I would find persons willing to share their experience I did not think it
would be as breath taking as it turned out that faithful evening.
I had barly said everything I had to say when I heard the
voice of one of my audience from the far left saying; “You have a good concept.
I will share with you the story of my life. I am sure a hand full of young
couples out there will learn from what I have to say.

Sore throat can make you miserable
Anyone who has had a sore throat would tell you it’s an unpleasant experience. Depending on the severity, sore throat can give you a runny nose, headaches, fever, muscle aches, cough, and a swelling in the throat.
Causes
General Practitioner, Dr. Gladys Onwa, says sore throat is caused by bacterial or viral infection, such as the common cold, though in about one third of cases, physicians may not find a cause for the sore throat.
She explains, “Medically, sore throat is known as pharyngitis, and it is rather common, especially in children and teenagers. This is because young people have not built up resistance against many of the viruses and bacteria that can cause sore throats, hence their susceptibility.”

Mz Chizzy: First Move
Some while back, I had this very interesting conversation with my girlfriends. Just out of curiosity I wanted to know if any of them could take the first step in telling a guy how much she feels about him. Seeing that they are the ideal 21st century babes – smart, intelligent, well-exposed, gorgeous-looking corporate executives with salaries to die for who are vehemently against the Anti-gay bill as per marriage equality and all, I figured it wouldn’t be so much of a big deal. Ahmean, kini big deal?

Quarter of miscarriages may be preventable - research
A quarter of miscarriages may be preventable, research suggests.
Being underweight or obese before conception, working nights, drinking alcohol in pregnancy and lifting heavy loads could all increase the risk, experts said.
They said if women cut these risks to very low levels, 25% of miscarriages could be prevented. The large study of more than 91,000 pregnancies also confirmed that one of the biggest factors influencing miscarriage is the mother's age, with women over 30 having a higher chance of miscarrying.

the touching story of Ada
life they say is indeed a beautiful gift. but what kind of beauty can be derived from the life a girl like Ada whose mother gave up at the birth of the young lady. born about thirty six years ago, Ada's mother died shortly after putting her to bed. out of love for the young lady her father married another woman to help take care of his daughter while he was at work. unfortunately, this turned out to be his own undoing as the woman he got married to became a bone of contention both to him and his daughter. to cut the log story short, Ada ended up forcing herself into the hands of a man in a bid to leave her father's house and escape from the monster called her step mother. unfortunately, this became in itself a gateway to yet another nightmare, as Ada ended up in the hands of a man whose promiscuity made him a victim of a course that plagued both of them for over ten years. shortly after their marriage, Ada discovered that the man she had married had impregnated a girl and abandoned her along with the baby. out of anger, the girl's mother placed a curse on him, saying he would not live to have another baby. Ada, has been married now for over ten years and has suffered from countless miscarriages.

the story of Joanna Dennyhy; How a young loving girl turned into a serial killer
John Treanor will
never forget the day he first met the fresh-faced teenager who would eventually
become the mother of his two children.
Aged 21, and unemployed, he was taking his German Shepherd
on an afternoon walk through a park near the home where he lived with his
parents in the Hertfordshire commuter village of Redbourn.
A dark-haired girl bounded over, patted the creature, and
declared: ‘I really love dogs.
She introduced herself as Joanna Dennehy, a 15-year-old GCSE
student at Roundwood Park School in nearby Harpenden.
They fell into conversation, and agreed to meet up again the
following day to walk together. It was the summer of 1997, and the start of a
rapidly-blossoming relationship. Despite their age gap, Treanor recalls being
smitten by the gregarious, extrovert teenager.
‘She was quite
normal: a little rebellious, perhaps, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a
teenager.’
Today, the older, wiser, slightly world-weary Treanor looks
back on that day with a mixture of sadness and regret.
The relationship it spawned would last 12 years, and produce
two daughters - now aged 14 and seven - whom he of course adores.
But it ended in traumatic circumstances, after Dennehy
became addicted to drink and drugs, pursued a string of tawdry affairs (with
both men and women), and began physically and verbally abusing her family.
After years of increasingly torrid abuse, Treanor walked out
in 2009. The final straw, he recalls, was an argument which saw his drunken
girlfriend reach into her knee-high leather boot and pull out a six-inch
dagger.
She then plunged it into the living room floor, where it
stuck, and yelled: ‘I wish I could kill someone!’
‘Jo was just angry. I don’t know what about. But that dagger
was very, very scary,’ he recalls.
‘It was a proper one with a long, straight blade and
decoration on the handle. Obviously, it really freaked me out.’
For his safety, and the safety of the children, he decided
to disappear and set up home hundreds of miles away in Derbyshire, where he
lives today with his daughters.
This week, a jury in Cambridge convicted two men of helping
Dennehy carry out an unimaginably brutal, and at times random, killing spree,
in which three men were stabbed to death and two more were seriously injured.
