Gen. Mohammadu Buhari |
Niger state governor Banbagida Aliyu has said that APC
presidential Candidate, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd.) will not exceed one
tenure, if he emerges winner of the 2015 General elections.
Aliyu had stated
this at a PDP Governors forum in Lagos state, adding that the APC had hatched a
plan to have him hand over the mantle of national leadership to a southerner.
“Buhari's emergence will affect the North chance. Buhari
can't preside over Nigeria effectively”
The information which was allegedly meant to insight
Nigerians against the APC was howver debunked by the APC who described the statement
as malicious.
APC in a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday by its
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said ''the APC will not
abridge the right of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to spend the constitutionally-guaranteed
two terms as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria if elected in the
March 28th poll,''
''No conditionality whatsoever was attached to Gen. Buhari's
candidacy. He won the party primaries fair and square in a globally-acclaimed
transparent manner, and he was neither a compromise nor a consensus candidate,
hence there is no need for him to make a deal with anyone”.
