Maku |

Former Minister of Information, and the governorship
candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), Labaran Maku has
denied allegation by one of Nigeria’s publications stating that he had been a
member of the party since 2013.
While describing the publication as the result of
desperation and misinformation, Maku said he was only allowed a waiver to
backdate hismembership of the party, after he was welcomed by APGA, who
initially
approached him with a governorship ticket.
A statement from Nasarawa state APGA secretariat said: “The
attention of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nasarawa State has been
drawn to yet another mischief planted in one of the nation’s
Newspaper on the 8th of March, 2015 claiming that our
governorship candidate, Mr. Labaran Maku, has been a card carrying member of
APGA since 2013”.
“While we do not want to join issues with the PDP and APC in
Nasarawa State, who have now formed an unholy alliance in the smear campaign against
Mr. Maku, it behooves on APGA to clarify the issue and put the records
straight”.
