The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended
the deadline for collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) by registered voters,
in consonance with the extension of the election date to the 28 March.
According to the electoral commission, the collection of the
cards will now continue for four more weeks until March 8th, 2015.
INEC had on Saturday, February 07th 2015, rescheduled the
2015 general elections by six weeks due to security challenges. The national
elections which include the Presidential
and National Assembly elections have been rescheduled to hold on March 28th2015
while the state elections; (i.e Governorship and State Assembly) will hold on
April 11th 2015.
Other reports however say that the legislative arm is not planning
to comply with the said postponement
