World's bigest rodent: A giant rat the size of a buffalo, discovered by research

A huge rodent named Josephoartigasia monesi, has reportedly been described as the largest of his species to have existed.
 The report adds that the beast, roamed Earth three-million-years-ago and had a bite force of about 1,400 Newtons, as powerful as a tiger and the incisors would’ve been able to withstand almost three times that.


it alos states that the animal is a rat, with the size a buffalo and had front teeth like an elephant’s tusks which it used to dig for food and fight off predators, according to new research.

The huge rodent which stood about five feet tall looked liked a cross between a guinea pig and a beaver.
